Hi.
I have a Nokia 6610 and a laptop with Windows XP with an infrared port. The IR port does see the 6610. The pc suite software can identify it as a 6610. But when I want to select my 6610 it doesn't work. It is looking and looking, but nothing happens. It worked once when I had Windows 98. I had the same problem with Windows 2000. Greetings, Patrick Kik, The Netherlands. |

Check what speed is set for it in the infrared driver options. Try it on 115200 bps. |

It's me again,
I've upgraded from PC Suite 5.1 to 6.2. It should work, ... but it doesn't. It says that the software doesn't support the 6610. Anybody an idea? Patrick Kik. We can suggest to have a look at Oxygen Phone Manager II ( http://www.opm-2.com/ ). Can you manage the phone with trial version of Oxygen Phone Manager II ( http://www.opm-2.com/download/opm2.zip )? Also, please, check the following settings for IR connection: 1) You should turn IR connection off in Nokia Connection Manager right before running Oxygen Phone Manager II. In some cases, one may need to uninstall Nokia PC Suite completely as it may occupy infrared connection even in inactive mode. 2) Open 'My computer' -> 'Control panel' -> 'Wireless link' -> 'Hardware' -> 'Properties' -> 'Advanced' (or 'General', depends on driver version). Here you should set 'Speed enable' parameter ('Maximum connect rate' in some driver versions) at 115200 ( 115 kbit/s) value and 'Infrared transceiver type' parameter (if available) at 'Sigmatel 4000' or 'Sigmatel 4012' parameter (if not available, just leave default setting). Some Sigmatel IR transceivers may function only on 57600 bit/s (57.6 kbit/s) speed value and some Vishay infrared transceivers may function only on 9600 bit/s speed value. If you will have any questions and/or suggestions, concerning our program, feel free to post them on our official forum http://www.opm-2.com/forum/ Best regards, Maxim Vyalkov Oxygen Phone Manager - all you want from your Nokia info@oxygensoftware.com http://www.oxygensoftware.co.uk/ http://www.smsactivex.com/ |
