I'm currently travelling abroad, and far from my own cell phone dealer.
My W600i has died, and I'm hoping that some knowledgeable person may have troubleshooting advice for me. Symtoms are as follows: I turn the phone on, and it boots to a blank white screen, where it stays. It doesn't progress past this point. I can't power it down unless I yank the battery. I have attempted pulling the battery out for 1/2 hour, but this doesn't help. I have tried resetting my SIM, and even booting the phone without the SIM, but the symptoms don't change. Is there any way to do a hard-reset of the phone? Has anyone experienced symptoms similar to this? What was the cause and the required fix? There was no trauma to the phone. I turned it off as I got on the plane, and then once I got off, tried to power it up, when it first manifested this behavior. I am en-route to a place that will not likely have a service center of any kind. Any help appreciated. |

I've not experienced this but this is the evidently dread white screen of
death. It has according to what I've seen on newsgroups occurred on the W600i. For some it happened after they removed it from their computer when attached with a USB cable & didn't do the "stop the USB" device before removing the phone. You should be able to do a search for it on the web & come up with some ideas or check Howard's forum. <m3nn0_s4r@salmahayeksknockers.edu> wrote in message news:f2keg.29223$zn1.6071@clgrps13... > I'm currently travelling abroad, and far from my own cell phone dealer. > My W600i has died, and I'm hoping that some knowledgeable person may have > troubleshooting advice for me. > > Symtoms are as follows: I turn the phone on, and it boots to a blank > white > screen, where it stays. I followed your advice, and read a bit up on the issue, and am quite disappointed. I had no idea so many people were having the same problem with the w600i. -- .................................................. ............................ As an added note, this is likely the last SE I will buy. -- .................................................. ............................
