This was about 6 months ago so I'm not sure about the very latest models. Nextel could tell you right away. I asked when I went from the i88s to the i860 and was told it wouldn't work with the i88s, a 2 digit phone. Regards, Bill Watt Win98 Computer Help & Other Information http://home.ptd.net/~bwatt/ |

Your best bet is the V180 or the i930.
If you are only looking to use it overseas and then switch back to your i860 when you return, the i930 is not a good choice. It is expensive ($349.99 as a new activation) and bulky, but you can use it to play music and other media files. The V180 is $75, and treated like an accessory, so no contract. You can also contact Nextel to rent a phone if you do not want to buy, but it could end up costing more than buying. The cost is $8/day, $99/month. More info here: http://nextelonline.nextel.com/en/se...e/rental.shtml Which ever you choose, be sure to contact Nextel's customer service to have them add Nextel WorldWide to your service. There is no charge for NWW, but it enables you to make calls in other countries. In theory yes, but most likely not in practice. The i2000 is 3 generations
ago. I have heard from a number of users the nightmares they have had trying to use new generation sims on old equipment. Usually doesn't work. If you have an i2000, try putting your sim in it before you leave the states, but I do not recommend you buy one. Get the V180 if you are going to be buying something.
