Default i530 charger compatability question

I just bought an Xcite 33-0251-01-XC charger for my NEXTEL i530. If you
google this model, all the sites that sell this say it is compatible
with my i530. But when I got it, I found that it has the small 3
contact plug that fits in some other phones, and doesn't fit in to the
left of the connector slot, because there is a small block in the
opening to the right of the 3 pins. My other chargers for this phone
have the wide type NEXTEL plug that only has 2 metal contacts.
Is there a way to use this charger? Is that little block supposed to
come out? Or will I damage my phone?

I e-mailed NEXTEL and Motorola with this question, they both sent me
standard replies to only use authorized accessories.
Is there anyone out there that is familier with both types of the
charger plug types?
3 pin narrow, or 2 pin wide?
Thanks

Of course they sent you the standard replies. Keep in mind that any
accessory other than the Manufacturer specified device will void your
warranty...
