The correct response was "yeah, but occasionally I slip up", at which
point I'd have let it drop.

However: had you not reposted, I would not have seen the spam at all.
The same is probably true for others with good personal or
server-based filters.
To make it worse, you reposted the URL, thus giving the spammer more
free advertising.
