How do you sign up for posting on the Newgroups with a fictitious
EMAIL address in order to avoid being spammed???

Don't you need to confirm your registration with a valid email

Not if you're actually posting through a Usenet server with a Usenet
client. The only ones that require you to do authentication of an
e-mail address are Google Groups and similar services.

Depends on how you access the newsgroups. I just go through Google
Groups, which doesn't offer obfuscation. So I use a mailinator
address. You should check it out. www.mailinator.com.

Nothing has piled the SPAM on me faster than posting a valid email address
(as required) on Google Groups. If that's your only choice, get a Hotmail
address, use it to confirm your address, then never access it again.

BTW, the SPAM-readers have now figured out how to delete parts of your
address like NOSPAM or XXX or others.

spam to farm (this requires a learning curve and a program like

at least 3 credit card numbers, and the number and expiration date on
your drivers license. Then provide a valid email address. I will
then charge $129.99 to one of your credit cards and sign you up for a
fictitious name.
