Call T-mobile and ask them. I believe they are the only ones that will do it
for free. Make sure the country has no partner service. Sorry bud, it is impossible to unlock a blackberry
If you unlock it, you will be able to place and receive calls from another carrier (with their sim). But, it wont be possible for you to send/receive emails. Each BB has a pin. Each carriers support a series of pins. You BB has a pin that is assign to t-mobile. When a message is sent to you, the Rim Relay in Waterloo, Canada will send the message through t-mobile. If you have a sim from another carrier, the message will stay on t-mobile network until t-mobile reached the BB. Not according to RIM's Blackberry expert I talked to, but then she did not
know how T-mobile would unlock it either ...or wouldn't say anyway. There are many unlocked Blackberry's for sale out there and my local AT&T dealer unlocks them all the time for $250 for overseas usage. Not quite correct. You can change SIM and still continue to receive emails
regardless of the Service Provider. The bigger problem would be Roaming on the overseas BlackBerry Relay. He has to be registered on that Relay. He should explain to his carrier what he wants and they should help him.
