Having worked in the finance department of a large player in the mobile
business I can confirm what you probably already know - some companies will use any device to avoid paying out cashbacks. Make sure you know who is financing the offer - look at the small print. It can be the retailer or the service provider. I'm currently in dispute with T Mobile over a £100 Cashback, payable in two £50 stages. First they claimed that it was the retailer's responsibility, now they are claiming that they never received the forms. I would advise all claimants to pay a little extra and send cashback applications by Recorded Delivery, otherwise forget it. But give them a hard time anyway! I've written to the Consumers Association about it. David "ferg" <submitsite99nospam@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:aQzMa.45013$9C6.2181490@wards.force9.net... > > "> Is this a reliable company? This is not music to my ears. I just bought a T68i from Carphone Warehouse Online, and it came with a 6 month cashback offer. Actually the offer ran out on 1st July and I ordered 2 hours into the next day - but I called the following day and the spokesperson said yes, due to the "variation tariff" I am entitled to the offer and that it was recorded on my account with CPW. That's fine, until it comes to payout and I havn't got any proof - no paperwork or anything indicating my entitlement. So I called back and asked for written confirmation. I was passed from department to department for 20 minutes until I eventually got back to the person I originally spoke to, and since I was not taking no for an answer - she agreed to type up the confirmation, and sure enough it arrived today. "I am happy to inform you, since speaking to a sales rep on the above date that confirmed that you are still entitled to the six months line rental due to the variation tariff which you chose". I'm still a little sceptical as I haven't received a redemption form (they said the cheque is sent out automatically) but with the letter I hope that should they not pay out, it is evidence enough to take them to small claims. What do you think? |
