Default T610 - PAYG on Orange

Does anyone know when/if Orange will be releasing the T610 on PAYG?

They will be releasing on PAYG. Date is as yet unknown, but I've heard it
could be soon. Demand for the contract T610 is still very high, so it could
be affecting the PAYG release date.

It will be, and I've seen prices mentioned from £149 to 179 from
various places...

I've also heard that Orange maybe sim locking this particular phone.
Is this true? Also where have you heard about these cheap prices?
I've managed to find it for £169.99 but where for £149?

regards,

Sil

Yes, and early next week seems the likely date.

Well, seeing as they have sim locked every other handset they have
ever sold (with one small exception), it seems very likely to be true.

£149 is a good price. Orange direct are quoting £159.99 (remember all
these prices end .99 so appear a pound less than they really are)

Someone on Esato said it was that price from Cyren Communications -
not checked myself though...

CJ reckoned that:

There is no difference except if you pay Orange for the code they will also
want the rest of your contract paid up front on a credit card aswell.

Not doing very well here am I? What's the difference between Network locking
and GID1 SIM locking? Apologies I wasn't very clear!

And a bit of an own goal, given that you can switch form JT to
contract.

Indeed, so it's not a big worry anyway.

Plus the remainder of the first year's line rental!

Network locking (usually lock 1 and sometimes 4) only stops you using another
network,
you can use any Sim for that network.

GID1 lock limits you as well to using only a networks Sim type they want you to.

So far only Voda PAYT regularly GID1 lock, stopping you using
a Voda contract or a different Voda PAYT tariff Sim.
