I used them for about 15 months and only left them because I moved to the middle of Northumberland. I will be back online with them from the 8th March (fingers crossed). I never had any big problems with them, email and phone support was fast and any predicted problems are detailed on their website. Newsgroups were slow with Pipex, especially binaries, but I don't know what they are like now. I am hoping they are going to up the speed/lower prices when I am connected, following the example of other providers. However, I am not after a cheap deal, just a reliable one (which I found them to be) Even if they are cr*p now, I am only on a 1 month contract with the £50ish charge to pay if I leave them within the first 12 months. I was using about 3 gig a day according to DUmeter, downloading stuff/streaming/surfing/vid conf etc. -halli- |

The thought of me saving £100 a year is very tempting, but I cannot fault the service at all as it has been 100% for over a year (touch wood). I rang them recently re migration/reducing prices - they told me that they 'could not tell me anything' but to watch the website over the next couple of months. |

Same here, joined in July 03 only had a couple of outages in that time, not Pipex's fault AFAICT, but problems at the local BT exchange (500k uncapped service @ £23.44/m) > I rang them recently re migration/reducing prices - they told me that > they 'could not tell me anything' but to watch the website over the next > couple of months. I was about to phone them to ask the same :-) I'll keep an eye open. My monthly traffic is probably quite high (two teenage sons each with a PC on my router :-) ) -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. |

I moved to TalkTalk, they had some problems over Christmas, and they offered for me to move away from Talk Talk for free, and provided me with a MAC key, but then later, they made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so stayed with them. And they have been fine since they had a new pipe installed. Pipex said to me in December that to keep an eye on their site, but still nothing, they admitted to me, they were loosing a huge amount of customers, with a great deal of them moving to Talk Talk, when I was chatting to Pipex I could here loads of advisors constantly giving out MAC keys. So they would be crazy not to shortly offer a better deal. If you need to call Pipex, use the 01707 299 505 number cheaper than the so called "Lo - Call" number. -- Current Items For Sale: http://www.bextech.me.uk/forsale Free Calendar: http://www.bextech.me.uk/calendar For South East Brum: http://www.south-east-birmingham.tk For Free £10 credit when you get referred to TalkTalk contact me via above site.
