Thanks

garbage provisioned by NTL. Avoid.

If you don't believe me, go to adslguide.org.uk and do some research.

The out-laws' exchange has just been enabled. They use Tesco for their
daytime dial up and wanted to switch to broadband.

Tesco told me that they could not have broadband with Tesco because it
is datastream and BT were not allowing datastream to be enabled at that
exchange for the near future. Tesco also said that it may be upto a
year before they are allowed in.

We decided to go with AOL (I know, but is ok for the out-laws) and it
was enabled in a few days.

Still a monopoly??

I wouldn't wish AOL on anybody - even the outlaws!

Tesco/NTL lied - the reason the exchange won't have been DataStreamed is
purely because NTL has not yet chosen to do it yet - nothing to do with BT
restricitions

Rgr, may have got the facts slightly confused - but at the end of the
day Tesco couldn't do it.

Cheers for the info.

Apart from first couple of days, Tesco has been 100% reliable for me. With
2 PC's and a xBox online virtually continuesly together, i'm happy.

Cheap as chips for a 24x7 *unlimited* connection that's faster than my
old pipex one (of course just my own experience).

So was I until I started getting speed problems (after a few months of
good speed). Their helpdesk has been next to useless, and I'll be
swapping as soon as my contract finishes.
