I have a friend with a Nokia 6100 and a ThinkPad laptop with XP.

Actually, the model of the phone is unimportant because we had the same
problem on previous model.

I downloaded drivers for phone but no matter what I do, I cannot get the IR
link set up. I've set up same phone on my laptop, no problems. But for
some reason, we cannot get the phone to show up as modem on his laptop - it
keeps defaulting back to the IR default modem which does not work.

I eventually set him up with his cable as modem but we want to get the IR
link working. Any ideas why we should be getting this problem?
