I think what he was trying to say is that the QoS on certain routers is
usually applied to the upstream packets, so in effect is pretty useless
at giving priority to downstream VOIP packets. But I could be wrong.

i meant the bandwidth issue - blimey - thought that was obvious !

thanks for the sensible replies

ivor - i was concerned if i'm downloading the world at 100% bandwidth how
would voip be able to get a look in

didnt realise the ability of voip routers to guarantee enough to make it
workable

you live and you learn !
