Default test7

No not really
See this is what happens if you allow tests on actual groups

I agree.

I'm no expert on the ways of Usenet, but I would have thought that
if your posts are appearing in one group your Newsserver carries,
you can expect them to appear when posted to the rest.

But, as I've said, sometimes they don't. I once had a very weird problem
where I could post to around half the groups I subscribed to but not the
rest.

Posting test messages only to test groups would have achieved nothing in
helping me resolve the problem.

That sounds like a fault with your newsserver,
try changing to another service.

For a free one I can recommend aioe.cjb.net
which i'm using now

I use NiN which has never given me any problems. I never did get to the
bottom of it, but it wasn't NiN.

news.individual.net which used to be the free Berlin Newsserver?
Yes I used to use them when they were free, they were very good

Then when I joined NTLworld I used news.ntli.net
which was free to NTL/Tesco/Virgin.net users

Now I'm using aioe.cjb.net which is by far the best free one around

NiN is well worth 10 euros a year IMHO.

IMHO if you are going to pay for one, then it would be
for comprehensive coverage of the binaries.
NIN isn't the best for binaries.

It doesn't support them at all, which is why I like it :-)
