Default MPT & Win 2003 Server

I'm trying to get MPT working via the USB cable on 2003 server and it
cannot find the modem. If I enable bluetooth, it connects fine. I've had
it working before on Win2003 Server, and it just stopped. I tried on a
fesh system and it has problems. I've tried MPT versons 4.36, 4.51, 4.56
and 5.05/5.07. Anyone have any clue as to what is happening?

I've sometimes had to re-install the drivers, don't know why? Run the
driver installer again and see if that helps.

It doesn't always work. I start the driver installer and tell it to
clean and re-install, is that what you did?

Make sure you delete all instances of Motorola USB Modem in Device
Manager then reinstall s/w and wait till it asks for phone to be plugged
in.

I had a similar problem w/a win2k pro install. Without going into what
I *think* happened, this is what I did to get it working:

1) go to <http://forums.avanquestusa.com/> & search for similar prob's.
2) register & post the prob w/a reference to similar post.

W/in a day or so, Avanquest sent me instructions, a driver uninstaller
and a couple of updated files for the MPT, one of which was a driver.
I've been able to use usb or bt w/out a problem for the past 1+ years.

I haven't tried posting on Avanquest yet since I find the talent here at
times better. But I'm out of options and I may have to visit.

Yea;

I know the feeling. The best description I've heard for MPT is "flaky."
It mostly works. And the support posts I've read, more often than
not, can be somewhat... cryptic.

That's why I started out by writing: "without going into what I think
happened..."

g'luck and let us know!
