Have a look at the Nokia website, there is something called the Nokia Multimedia Converter.

Should do exactly this.

Ok, you could use RealPlayerOne plugin and play the 3GPP on your Comp
The extension for it is .3gp It's efficient as 20 secs with sound a
qcif resolution takes only around 100kB

I just want do do the same thing. At the moment I use

ffmpeg for converting the files unit 3gpp files.

You just need to type

ffmpeg -aic -umv -i Simpsons_cut.avi -s qcif -r 15 -b 75 -vcodec h263p -an
Simpsons.3gp

-an means audio no. I didnt manage it, finding the correct audioformat for
the handy. The movies look much better than the Nokia side.

At the moment I try to convert the movies in Windows/Nokiamediaplayer, and
then change dthe videostream! like

ffmpeg -aic -umv -i Simpsons_cut.avi -i Simpsons_cut.3gp -s qcif -r 15 -b
75 -vcodec h263p -acodec copy -map 0.0 -map 1.1 Simpsons.3gp

-Simpsons_cut - the original good quality movie/with cutted add.
-Simpsons_cut - the Nokia converted 3gp stream with a worse Picture qual.

I dont know exactly if this will work, because i need Windows to send the
File tom my handy.(Nokia has a broken obex bluetooth ftp protocol and the
obex file push just suports the small internal phone memory.
