Default no messages

Hi
can anyone help my sons 3310 keeps going blank and he can't read his
messages. have replaced the screen and the batterie and sim card but keeps
doing it. any ideas

a software upgrade will sort it

when i registered the new sim card that would of done that surely. if not
how do i upgrade it?

When you registered the SIM, you'll probably have received a SIM update, but
for a software/firmware update you'd need further equipment (flasher cable
etc). However, in this case, it doesn't sound like a firmware fault (it
could be, but I'd susupect water damage).
