For anybody familiar with the connectivity cable, DKU-5, is it a
serial port or a USB port? In one of the download pages on the Nokia website, DKU-2 is listed as a USB cable while DKU-5 is a serial cable. However, after downloading the DKU-5 driver (i have a generic serial cable for my 3100), everything in the installer says it is a USB port driver. Frankie |

DKU-5 is a serial cable that plugs into a USB port. In other words it
emulates a serial cable but using a USB port. The DKU-2 is a true USB cable into a USB port. Hope that makes sense, to me a while to find out this info "xplorer" <fvfernandezmd@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:2bf530cf.0405082257.29618997@posting.google.c om... > For anybody familiar with the connectivity cable, DKU-5, is it a > serial port or a USB port? as god said, the dku-5 emulate a RS-232 port connection at your PC. and make
your nokia pcsuite recongize it. the protocol dku-5 using is actually designed for serial port, but they use usb to achieve faster transmission rate. please notice there are many serial port or usb cables claiming they are dku-5 compatible, esp ebay. DKU-5 has special protocol, not f-bus, not m-bus, but dku-5. If you want to use nokia pcsutie, u should buy one support dku-5 protocol. let me have an advertisement, take a look at our site http://www.vavolo.com you will find compatible nokia usb data cable support nokia pcsuite. ashley "John F Kappler" <johnk@pceffect.co.uk> ¼¶¼g©ó¶l¥ó·s»D :409dede5.9699265@news.btinternet.com... > DKU-5 is a USB Port cable. > > JK > > On 8 May 2004 23:57:28 -0700, fvfernandezmd@hotmail.com (xplorer) > wrote: > > >For anybody familiar with the connectivity cable, DKU-5, is it a > >serial port or a USB port?
